Malbork Castle & the Teutonic Order

In modern Poland and Germany, the Teutonic order of knights fought to colonize and Christianize the “Old Prussians” and other groups living along the coast of the Baltic Sea. One of the ways they secured their power was to build fortresses as bases that could keep the local population submissive, and one of the most impressive fortresses they built was Malbork Castle.
