Next Thursday, February 14 , 2019, marks the ninetieth anniversary of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre. The crime shocked the nation and led to the downfall of arguably the most famous mobster of all time, Al ‘Scarface’ Capone. But perhaps the most important impact of the infamous crime was the role it played in the development of scientific methods of criminal investigation, and the contribution to the investigation made by one of the fathers of the discipline of forensic ballistics, Dr. Calvin Goddard.
