In March of 1974, a mentally ill man attempted to kidnap the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II. It is the closest that a British royal has come to being kidnapped in modern times. In the harrowing moments of the attack, the attacker and the princess carried on “a tedious conversation.” The History Guy remembers the attempt to kidnap Princess Anne.
